Biography :

I’ve been in rooms with people making some of the biggest financial and emotional decisions of their lives — and I consider it a genuine honor to be part of those stories.

I’m Krystal Williams — a licensed Realtor and Broker Associate with Platinum Realty LLC, serving buyers and sellers across Central Iowa. I’ve been in real estate since 2019, but I came to it after close to two decades working across multiple industries. And I brought all of that with me: the communication skills, the systems thinking, the detail orientation, and the deep instinct to make sure the person across from me actually understands what’s happening and why.

Those instincts didn’t go away when I got my license. They got sharper.

I want to know your story. Why this house, why now, what you’re hoping this next chapter looks like — and what’s keeping you up at night about getting there. The more I understand about where you’re coming from, the better I can help you get where you’re going. And I find that when something complicated comes up along the way — and something usually does — the most reassuring thing I can offer isn’t a script. It’s a real story. ‘Here’s a transaction where this exact thing happened, here’s what we did, and here’s how it turned out.’ That’s what makes a concept actually stick.

My approach is pretty simple, even if the process isn’t: I’d rather tell you the inconvenient thing on day one than have you blindsided by it at closing. I talk through timelines before they feel urgent. I explain what’s in your contract in plain language, not real estate shorthand. I tell you what could go wrong — and how we plan for it — before it has a chance to become a crisis. And I genuinely love the detailed questions, because the clients who feel most confident at the end of this process are almost always the ones who asked the most of them.

There’s no such thing as too many questions here. That’s not something I say to be polite — it’s how I’m actually wired.

I grew up moving across Iowa — northeast Iowa, the Mississippi River valley, north central Iowa, and eventually Des Moines in 2012, where I’ve been ever since. I know this state, I know this market, and I know that a home isn’t just a transaction. It carries a story before you get there and starts a new one the moment you do. I take that seriously.

Before real estate, I spent years moving through progressively complex roles at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield — from customer service to licensed insurance sales to senior and executive account management, where getting the details exactly right wasn’t just good practice. Wrong details meant wrong coverage. Wrong coverage could mean a group losing their entire eligibility. That kind of precision follows me everywhere, including into every contract I read and every offer I review. It’s part of why other agents used to bring me their contracts — because I catch the wording, the clauses, the things that could quietly cost someone money or derail a closing if nobody caught them first.

And throughout my career — at every job I’ve held, across completely different industries — I was consistently the person organizations turned to for training. Not because I sought those roles out. Because I learn quickly, I document obsessively, I care whether the people around me actually understand what they’re doing, and I can’t help finding ways to explain things that land. That started at my earliest jobs and kept repeating all the way through my time helping build a new agent productivity program at Keller Williams, and eventually running my own coaching platform for real estate agents.

The coaching instinct is still at the core of everything I do. I just do it with clients now instead of agents. And when I explain something to you, there’s a real chance I’m going to illustrate it with a story from an actual transaction — because that’s what I’ve always found makes things stick.

If you’re someone who likes to understand what’s happening and why — who wants a clear picture before anyone asks you to make a decision — I think we’ll work really well together.

I’m based in Des Moines and serve buyers and sellers throughout Central Iowa. Reach out whenever you’re ready — no pressure, no script, just a real conversation about your story and what comes next.

Krystal was amazing, process went smooth the entire time. If we had questions we just sent a quick text and got replies back quickly! Best experience I could have asked for!

My fiance and I used Krystal Williams to help us buy our first home in the spring of 2022. First, Krystal's ethics show in everything she does. She is extremely professional in her approach to the job and was always very up-front regarding all aspects of the home-buying process. Krystal also has a sound understanding of expectations from both sides of the negotiating table, which was great to have. Second, Krystal understands the administrative technicalities of the process and provided great insight regarding utility and structural concerns. She does a fantastic job of translating the language of documents so that you understand what you are signing. Last, Krystal has a very unassuming and warm personality, which made the whole process feel so easy. I would highly recommend Krystal Williams to anyone in the greater Des Moines area looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, and honest realtor to help them with their real estate needs.

- Taylor Trumbo

Krystal was at all times there for us and went the extra mile on helping us find exactly what we wanted. She is a knowable in many of Iowa's laws and rules , which helped us through to the final signing for our new home. Trustworthy.

- Penny Willis

Highly recommended. Didn’t look anywhere else after first meeting because she was Thorough, relatable, and obviously understanding of our situation. In fact, when she was at our house for our first appt, I was sick three times during the meeting, my youngest son had machines going off, I was desperately trying to order dinner for my oldest and could hardly pay attention to her. And she never batted an eye. Just WOW. From start to finish, incredible, technical, personable. Super accommodating, punctual, patient. One thing Inhavent mentioned yet is that Krystal works with the upmost integrity. She never sways on the rules. There is no bend. She won’t share your information. She won’t bend fair housing laws. She won’t disclose things she shouldn’t. She’s an all star. FIVE STARS

- Cassie Kilgore

Going into buying our first home I was very nervous. I've heard horror stories of terrible realtors who just want to get you into any house so they get thier money. Krystal was AMAZING! She answered all of our questions and never made us feel dumb, and we definitely had a few dumb questions! She made sure we felt comfortable and confident throughout the whole process. She went above and beyond to help us find the perfect house for us. Even after we the sale of the house went through she still continues to help us and answer our questions. If anyone ever asks me for a recommendation on a realtor I will send them Krystal's way!

- Clarice Miller

We were first-time home buyers and not only did Krystal Williams break down every possible important detail of the homes that we viewed, but was not afraid to dissuade us from properties that might not have suited us best. Krystal demonstrated that she was a professional in every facet possible, throughout the entire homebuying process and beyond.

- Benjamin Schomburg

Krystal was extremely easy to work with. She is very knowledgeable about the process and answered all our questions thoroughly. If she wasn't quite sure about something, she was very quick to find the answer without any hassle. She showed up eager to trek our potential through knee deep snow with zero complaints. A fantastic agent!
